1. Whistler Blackcomb Sidecountry

This is our home, it’s what we know best. From the quick classics like DOA and Husume to the longer traverses such as the Spearhead Traverse and Mcbride Traverse, our local area has everything to offer. Whatever you’re in to, whether it’s long glacier descents, steep skiing options, or classic traverses, we’ve got you covered.

2. Pemberton Backcountry

North of Whistler lies the quaint little town of Pemberton. The surrounding backcountry offers everything a backcountry skier dreams of. This is a great area for heli drops, spring base camping missions, gladed storm skiing and ski mountaineering.

3. Squamish Area

The Squamish area boasts some beautiful options for the adventurist. The Garibaldi Massif, which towers 2600m above Squamish, offers fantastic options for ski mountaineering and ski traverses. As well, just directly NW of Squamish lies the steep and hard to access Tantalus Range. Not to worry however, a quick 10min flight can lift you from sea level all the way up to 2100m to the Jim Haberl Hut, an awesome hut perched between Mt. Dionne and Mt. Serratus with breathtaking views of the Whistler Valley and Vancouver Island. From here, ski mountaineering and steep skiing options are endless.

Seven hours east of Whistler you’ll reach the Interior Ranges of British Columbia. The mountains here are huge and blanketed with dryer continental snow. There are dozens of ski touring huts within a 100km radius of Revelstoke. Forty five minutes East of Revelstoke leads you to Rogers Pass, the ski touring mecca of North America. Further east you’ll find the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The snowpack here is generally weaker throughout the winter but this place shines in the spring when the full winter snowpack has settled and allows for great travel. Classic options here include the famous Wapta traverse, basecamping on the Freshfield Icefields and ski mountaineering day hits in and around Lake Louise.
